The New Prai Swing Bridge
Bridging international ports with the development of the new Prai Swing Bridge
JetCan in conjunction with Waagner Biro played a key part in the development project of the New Prai Swing Bridge that was completed in 2013.
The Prai Swing Bridge serves as an important infrastructure with its role being pivotal to the ships travelling in and out of the ports and rivers, aiding in Penang establishing its ever-expanding role as an international port.
The New Prai Swing Bridge will carry forward the legacy of the decommissioned bridge with modern developments and innovative upgrades to the bridge such as an electro-hydraulic drive to minimize electronic equipment required to operate as well as overload valves that act as a torque limiter during braking to improve performance.
JetCan successfully secured the Letter of Intent from the original turn-key contractor DRB-HICOM as well as the Letter of Award from MMC-Gamuda Joint Venture Sdn Bhd in January 2010.
